Politico is reporting that Karl Rove was finally deposed on Tuesday over the course of 8 1/2 hours by attorneys for the House Judiciary Committee in connection with the U.S. attorneys probe, according to Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.).
Remember that this has been quite an ordeal for Rove to appear in front of any panel. Conyers had subpoenaed Rove in 2007, but Rove and the Bush White House refused, citing executive privilege.
From Politico:
Conyers would not comment on what Rove told congressional investigators, what the next step in the long-running Judiciary Committee investigation would be or whether Rove would face additional questioning.
[...]
Rove's attorney, Robert Luskin, declined to confirm or deny that his client had appeared before the committee. Luskin said there was an agreement that the depositions would remain confidential until they were completed.
